Our organization is encountering a problem with the updated Outlook, where modifications to already accepted meeting invites are being directly sent to the deleted folder. This is causing difficulties as individuals are not aware of the changes to meetings, leading to missed appointments.
Furthermore, for any updates that were dispatched before the team deselected the aforementioned option, how can we ensure they receive the notification without having to resend all meeting invites?
Dear Tiān,
I understand that you’ve been experiencing some issues with meeting updates in Outlook going directly to the Deleted Items folder. This seems to be a result of a recent change by Microsoft. However, there are a few steps you can take to prevent this from happening.
If you’re using the Outlook desktop client, you can try the following:
- Click File > Options > Mail.
- In the Tracking section, uncheck “Automatically process meeting requests and responses to meeting requests and polls” and “After updating tracking, and then delete responses that don’t contain comments”.
If you’re using Outlook Web Access (OWA), you can try the following:
- Under Options -> Calendar Options, uncheck the following checkboxes:
- Automatically place new meeting requests on my calendar, marked Tentative
- Move out-of-date meeting requests and responses to the Deleted Items folder.
- Uncheck “Delete invitations and responses that have been updated”.
If these steps don’t work, you might need to contact the administrator of your mailbox. They can change the default Visible Meeting Update Properties configurations with Exchange Online PowerShell. The command to use is Set-OrganizationConfig -VisibleMeetingUpdateProperties AllProperties
.
Please note that these are general suggestions and the exact steps may vary depending on your specific version of Outlook and your organization’s settings. If you continue to experience issues, I recommend reaching out to your IT department or Microsoft Support for further assistance.
Best regards,
VAF Team
