Hello,
I possess a Teams Premium license (add-on) and frequently collaborate with Japanese colleagues. I rely on the Live Transcription/Caption Translation feature to translate English into Japanese during our meetings.
However, upon the conclusion of a meeting, when the transcription file is automatically generated, it only displays the English text without the corresponding Japanese translation. Ideally, I would prefer the auto-generated/downloaded transcript to include the translated text in Japanese, or if I’ve selected “Show both languages,” for the transcript to present both languages.
Am I overlooking something, or is this functionality not available? It seems logical that if live translation is being recorded in the transcript, it should also appear in the Recap. Despite hours of searching, I haven’t found any solutions to this issue.
I’m aware of the manual workaround involving Stream, but it consumes considerable time and necessitates manual execution for all meetings, unlike the automated process in Teams.
Thank you for any insights you can offer on this matter!
Hi Danny,
I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing. It’s important to note that there are current limitations regarding the functionality you mentioned.
Current Limitations:
- AI-generated notes and tasks are only available when the transcript is in English and the meeting lasts more than 5 minutes.
Additional Limitations for your info:
- Users with the same name will not be differentiated in the Speaker section. We are actively working to resolve this limitation in future updates.
- Meeting recap functionality does not currently support channel meetings, instant meetings, or Teams calls. Please refer to the Timeline for more details on this.
If you require further assistance or have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help.
Best regards,
Your VAF Team.
